Swarovski Star Earrings Kranich’s Review & Giveaway

Kranich’s sent me a pair of Swarovski earrings to review and they are just gorgeous. They are add so much sparkle to any evening outfit and are anything but subtle. I will definitely love and appreciate these for years to come. The only con is the earring backs are a bit tight but that is easily remedied with new backs.

Darkhouse Book Review & Giveaway

I just finished reading Darkhouse by local Vancouver author and first time novelist Karina Halle and I’m wide eyed with my heart racing and itching for more. The main character Perry Palomino is a real person, a hard rock chick who is unsure of herself but willing to take any and all chances that life sends her way. It’s how you know that her life will continue to be exciting and relatable as we watch her grow as the series continues. Did I mention the series is “an experiment in terror?” Perry has this special ability of seeing ghosts, it makes her journey quite a creepy read late at night! There is also Dex, the mysterious and develish cameraman who intrigues us to no end. Truth be told, I’d love to see this one on the big screen and not just to see what actor can pull off an Errol Flynn mustache! Darkhouse really is begging to be a movie with visuals leaping off each page and a soundtrack to boot. Who would play our heroine I wonder?

For a first novel it really is impressive, and I’m trying not to be biased here but it’s a great hard-to-put-down read. CONFESSION: There was a moment when I thought I had the book figured out, I knew the plot and what was going to happen but NOPE I was dead wrong, I love when that happens. I am sick of predictable books and Darkhouse certainly is not.

I had been delaying starting this book as I’ve been trudging through the first Lord of the Rings but since that seemed to be taking me forever I just had to get on with Darkhouse. What will be my reward for finishing LOTR? Getting started on Red Fox, the second book in the Perry Palomino series.

I received a Paper Wallet to give the Style Symmetry review treatment.

There are many colors and designs, out of all the wallets I went with Pilpeled in Paper Wallet’s designer series. I liked the durable fabric, the thinness and cool design. If they added a small flap to a pocket there could be a space for change which I would love, its the only thing stopping this from being my day to day wallet. I definitely recommend the paper wallet for people who like to simplify. If you carry just a few cards like I do it is perfect! They are also reasonably priced at $10-20 with free worldwide shipping.
