Whoops, I missed my blogs anniversary! I cannot even believe I have been writing and sharing stories with you all for four years now, time flies. Lets take a look at the then and now of Style Symmetry.
Then; I took photos in my messy bedroom. Now; If I am lucky enough someone takes my photo at an event.

And I have to cut my lovely friends out to use the photos on my blog.

Then; I dressed for an office job. Now; I wear yoga pants.

Then; This was one of a dozen jackets I owned.
Now; it is the only jacket I wear.

Then; I was young with a shy smile. Now; I am….. older and angry lol.

Then; I occasionally dressed questionably. Now; oh nevermind….

What were you doing four years ago?

You are young. So you know everything. You leap
into the boat and begin rowing. But listen to me.
Without fanfare, without embarrassment, without
any doubt, I talk directly to your soul. Listen to me.
Lift the oars from the water, let your arms rest, and
your heart, and heart’s little intelligence, and listen to
me. There is life without love. It is not worth a bent
penny, or a scuffed shoe. It is not worth the body of a
dead dog nine days unburied. When you hear, a mile
away and still out of sight, the churn of the water
as it begins to swirl and roil, fretting around the
sharp rocks – when you hear that unmistakable
pounding – when you feel the mist on your mouth
and sense ahead the embattlement, the long falls
plunging and steaming – then row, row for your life
toward it.

I am looking for a part time job to help supplement my yoga teaching. Since I got back from Europe in May I’ve had enough money to pay rent and to eat and that may be just about it…. Life is great but now that summer is over I feel ready to be more productive. Last time I looked for part time work other than yoga was when I went door to door in January. It did not go well not even receiving one call back. This time I need to work at it more diligently, friends are going to Vegas in February and to have any chance in joining them I need a few more dollars in my bank account.
I’ve only actually ever had two non yoga jobs in this city! And they were both really hard for me to find. Vancouver doesn’t advertise jobs in newspapers, they seem to all be on craigslist. The challenge with this is that since you don’t have to pay to use craigslist, anyone can post job ads which means a lot of fakes and placement agencies and also a lot of competition between job seekers.
I am determined to find something, so things may be a bit quiet on here this week. Wish me luck!
