Clothing Purge, With a Twinge of Regret

Category: Clothing SwapsEyeliah @ 10:50 am

As I just moved into a smaller space I decided to purge my clothing.  Now there are two reasons this was a silly choice;
1. My new closet is the same size as my old closet.
And 2. I have barely any clothes to begin with.

But there is nothing like purging to feel like you are getting a fresh start.

Here is the massive pile of giveaways;

Top row is blouses, next is dresses, then we have skirts, bottom shelf is pants, sweaters and tights.  On the floor we have jewelry, gloves, hats and purses.

Here are some of the better off clothes;

A maxi skirt that has been too small on my waist since I thrifted it 10 years ago, the over the top sequins beret, an adorable but too clingy dress and an embroidered blouse.  It’s funny that out of these four outfits the only thing I still own is the obi belt, and I never seem to wear that either…

Here are my regrets;

Now granted the striped black dress and the pink floral dress need some tlc (sewing and pill removal) after multiple and ongoing wear but I know how to fix them.  The knit shawl was cozy and the silver skirt elegant, though I only wore both on a handful of occasions.  At the time I felt justified in getting rid of these four but now I can’t help wishing I kept these pieces. Le sigh.

What have you regretted getting rid of?

    I regretted getting rid of books, and a sweater that was a bit like jackets high school jocks wore on TV, and a load of other clothes and accessories and stuffs from my childhood that I can’t think of right now.
    Now I sort of feel scared to get rid of anything.

    I also have done a purge of my stuff and have been happy to find some cool stuff that was in storage I didn’t know I still had…YAY !!
    I did well in what I donated or gave away but I’m sure times will come along and I’ll miss an article of clothing or a jacket (maybe my leather coat or London Fog overcoat) that I’ll REALLY miss!!
    I’m sure what you kept will do you well!!

    Incredible! This blog looks exactly like my old one! It’s on a entirely different subject but it has pretty much the same layout and design. Wonderful choice of colors!
