Experiments in Hair and Makeup

Category: ProjectsEyeliah @ 10:38 am

On Yes and Yes Sarah recommended a winged eyeliner tutorial saying it is one she actually gets.  Well I’ve never created a passable winged eye so of course I had to try it and by goodness, I get it I finally get it!  I easily matched the wings on both sides, check out the tutorial here.

Now that my hair is shoulder length I’ve been playing with an over elastic-ed ponytail.  I used three elastics in the same color here.  It’s great for keeping my hair out of the way when I teach yoga.  I think this would look good if you have long hair. Make two side ponytails, elastics starting at the nape of the neck.

Then for a community dress up party I added tiny rhinestones to the side of my face with Spirit Gum.  I used this online picture as inspiration.  These little glittery jewels definitely added to the fun I had that evening.  It is very easy to do, especially since I stuck to (pun intended) only one side of my face, two sides would have been challenging to create evenly.

Have you been experimenting with your and makeup lately?

In the pic with the hair elastics you look like Lady Mary from Downton Abbey! (Not that she wore hair elastics). The eyeliner looks good.

Really diggin your eye makeup! I’m a bit of a klutz so using eyeliner is a bit of a challenge for me, but I’ve been forcing myself to do it lately, to see if I can get the hang of it!
