The Time and The Lace

Category: InspirationEyeliah

As I was packing up for the big move on Friday I found a few lace and crochet blouses hiding in the back of the closet.  They must have been lonely hanging in the dark for so long so I decided to check the web to find some fun ways to wear them this summer.

Now I could wear lace the way I usually do, with cute vintage skirts.

To mix it up, how about 80s style tucked in to a cute pair of shorts?
Maybe  channel the 1970s with flared bell bottoms, tooled belt and wedges.

With all white or bits of beige with a long flowing skirt.

Or I could try something really new like under a sheer dress, with a dark bra and/or cigarette pants or sleeves poking out from a dress.

How do you wear a lace blouse?

Happy Solstice

Category: InspirationEyeliah

I spent yesterdays solstice in the best way.  I had my first voice lesson that I am trading weekly yoga classes.  Next I taught a class downtown to a lovely group and then headed to Wreck Beach.  This beach is the best place to go on a celebratory day like Summer Solstice.  Bongos, guitars and clarinets (I also saw a violin) jam in the afternoon sun.  Hula hoopers and stick twirlers keep your eyes entertained.  And the ocean water is warm and welcoming in it’s shallow depth.  I biked home the mostly downhill path not getting home until 10pm.  Happy Summer!

I Love You Vancouver

Category: Life,MediaEyeliah

There was a riot two nights ago in my fair city of Vancouver.
100,000 people were downtown to watch Game 7 of the Stanley Cup, but not everyone was there for the game.  Trucks, smart cars and police cars were flipped, some set on fire.  Business windows were smashed, stores were looted.  Many people were injured.  Though these events are really quite upsetting  the lasting memory for me will not be the small group of rioters but the thousands of Vancouverites who yesterday assisted in the clean up.  I was personally thanked by the City Manager who herself had been there for 24 hours already.

All photos below are from yesterday.

I love you Vancouver.
