The Journey Home

Category: TravelEyeliah @ 3:15 am

I’ve been taking the long way home, stopping in Santorini, (for the beaches and sunsets), Athens (for the partying) and Amsterdam (for my first couch surfing experience) and now I am officially about to board the 10hr flight home. ┬áIt’s a bittersweet moment for me as I will miss Europe and the people I met but am also very excited for summer in Vancouver.

I am SOOOOO proud of you…the glimpses of your travels that you have shared allow me to recall my time in Europe!! (at times, it felt like I was there with you) I am sure this has been a life-changing trip just as mine was…I cannot wait to talk and hear more. You are a wonder to me and I am certain you touched many people’s lives with your charm and wit. Love Dad xoxox

Your posts have made me miss my traveling days. There is nothing like the buzz of finding new places, meeting new people, figuring things out as you go along, experiencing different cultures. And yes, I remember going home always felt a little bittersweet, but I guess that’s the whole point of traveling. Trips don’t last forever, and that’s at least in part why they are so special. :)
