Self Walking Tours

Marked in blue is the 14 km I’ve walked so far today.
Marked in red is the 5 hours of walking I did yesterday, time to get my hands on a bike.

*Streets may not be perfectly accurate*

What is the MOST walking you can handle per day?

    – whenever I’m in town, I walk everwhere – of course, that’s about 2 km all day!
    – where is your apartment located ?? – near the canal, on what street ??

I walk a lot during holidays, I find walking is the best way to discover a city but I’ve never really tracked how much!

6 miles is the most I handle….maybe? I’ve never really counted. That six miles is with some breaks and wearing my walking shoes. I do walk (and pace. I’m a pacer) all day; but if I walk A LOT, I hurt a lot (Cerebral Palsy is so much fun y’know). I try to keep the walking to a sane amount for me.

Since no one ever walks anywhere in the US, I notice that I get antsy – I used to walk a lot in Finland. In an ideal world I’d like to walk somewhere around 2 to 6 miles a day, and way more if I was in a new, interesting town, or hiking.

So happy for you and hope you have safe travels!

I once spent a whole entire day walking in San Francisco before I moved here, we only stopped once. The most walking I’ve ever done in my life!
