My course is coming to an end, there are only 3 days left and I should be certified! We only get one day off in the last eleven days of the course so it’s been a bit intense, sorry I’ve been absent(minded)in the blogosphere.
In regards to teaching; I’ve grasped the dialogue from the beginning but have struggled with my presence. The first time I taught with hunched shoulders, nervousness and was sitting in front of the students. Next few times I had a smidgen more confidence, was standing now but still exhibiting bad posture and occasional shakiness. All three teachers had the same feedback for me; clear confident voice, easy to follow instructions although body language not portraying the same ease. I changed my studying/practice to focus on moving around the space, strong posture, expressing confidence and sharing positive energy. It made the biggest difference for me and now my feedback is flawless.
The last week of teaching I didn’t even have to study much, I’ve just got it. If you want me to teach you a few yoga moves, the postures I know inside out are Centering, Head to Knees, Spinal Lift, Cobra, Childs Pose, Downward Dog, Half Twist, One Leg Forward Bend, Cat, Side Angle, Ballet, Triangle, Warrior II and Bow. Once I study a few more I’m set to safely and affectively teach a well rounded flow to yogis ranging from beginners to very advanced. I am ready. Well, first I need to pass the final test on Wednesday.
Will you come take my class?
