Dry My Eye Don’t Let Me Fall Deeper Now

Category: My OutfitsEyeliah

So I forgot to photo the second Metric outfit (whoops! It will be coming soon) but how about another workday look for your viewing pleasure? I saw this light beige dress hanging in the back of my closet, I totally forgot about it! I was really feeling the light colors so I just kept piling them on. Another look I really enjoyed. I like the idea of belting an oversized sweater and adding a thick scarf instead of wearing a coat. Yes I know it’s June but our weather has been like October!! I keep wanting to book holidays (I saved up almost 2 weeks of vacation for this summer!) but the weather needs to be beachy for the days off to be worth it.

Is it summer where you are? This is a rhetorical question, I do not want a bunch of comments bragging about heatwaves. Only if it is snowing where you live may you write a comment referring to the weather. Thank you.

All Is Lost If It’s Never Heard

Well I am not saying that life is any more on track at this point, but I am happy to say that yesterdays cheery outfit was not the last and all week they have been coming to me. :-) I feel like a part of myself is coming back, it may only be temporary but either way I am appreciating it while it’s here. This is what I wore on Monday and I felt confident in it all day. I picked up this sheer navy oversized blouse at a swap about a year ago but have really struggled with how to wear it, as when I say oversized it’s really just two sizes too big. Tucking in doesn’t really work unless the skirt starts at an empire waist and hanging loose is just too boxy. I am very happy that the combination of belting and a higher waist skirt did the trick.

They Try To Kick It Their Feet Fall Asleep

Category: My OutfitsEyeliah

Wow, you all sure know how to bring up a girls self esteem!   Thanks for all your comments lately (particularly on the last reggae dancing post).   To flash back to the shy person I was in high school, wait lets go back further to my first junior high dance; it’s Grade 7 and I’m 12 years old.  I still remember I wore my moms red pencil skirt and a white loose fitting blouse that I tucked in and white flats.  Of course I walked in to find everyone else was dressed casually and knew how to dance but I did not.  For the evening I was uncomfortable, self conscious and hiding out along the walls.  I don’t even think I danced once! :-(  Upon being picked up at the end of the night I was asked if I had fun, I probably said yes but the thought running through my head was “are you kidding me???”.

To dance well all you need is the confidence to not care what people think and just let loose.  I am thankful that when I go out now I am not that shy girl, on the second weekend dancing me and a friend were the first on the dance floor!  On Wednesday we are dancing and it may even be a stay home party, make our own playlist and literally cut a rug (since my living room is carpeted). ;-)

Do you dance?  Where and to what music?

I was on the phone planning a meet up to watch the band METRIC but was running out of time to take an outfit photo too, lol. I actually went twice on the weekend to see them play in Stanley Park, this is what I wore Saturday.
