Some days with The Eyeline I am spending more time outside than in so I’ll dress up my outerwear. This pink coat has impossibly large shoulders, I found adding the collar tones down that aspect. Another way I pull it off is by leaving it unbuttoned. If you are asking ‘why did you buy the coat in the first place if the shoulders are so big?’ Well, it was an ebay find. You can never be positive when buying online, even with taking all the correct measurements there are still mishaps now and then.
What did you buy online that ended up not fitting?

If I had a bubble gum pink coat that was too big I’d probably wear it anyway too.
I’ve had my fair share of online shoe purchases go awry, and if they are a tad too big and I can get away with shoving some kind of insole in them, I will. Otherwise they end up on eBay!
What’s more dissapointing than getting something you love and not being able to wear it?

Oh girl, the pink with the black is fabulous!

I like the pop of color on that coat, belted is great. Hat and fur, the perfect touches.
Buying shoes with European sizing can be tricky, I had to exchange a couple times due to it. I’m much wiser to it now. It’s important to do some brand research and read the customer reviews wherever available, they’re often very telling.

Ah this coat is beautiful! Love this color on you! Very nice.
I bought a beautiful jacket from tuelle. I think their measurements must be the size of the garment, not the size one should be to fit the garment, because it was a tad too snug (booooo)

Wow! This looks amazing! I LOOOOOVE the collar with it! You’ve accessorized it so well – it even makes me want to stand out in the cold all day

Love the bubblegum pink.

I think it looks great and I like how you toned down the shoulders. Ive had many fails when it comes to Ebay, but that’s the name of the game I guess
Have a great New Years!

its still pretty cool. It reminds me of the Royal Tenembaums (or however you spell that!) or something!

I’ve liked the vintage feel of this; the hat is almost a cloche and the whole ensemble has touches of both the 1920s and the 1960s, which is fun.
Just went back to your Christmas post of 2007. Forgot that you had the longer hair back then. Seems like ages ago.

I think the collar and belt work wonderfully with the jacket. This may surprise you, but I’ve actually never purchased an article of clothing online!

I love it with the collar! I usually just don’t buy online for that reason.

I think I’ve said something similar before sometime back on another outfit, but you do look like you just stepped out from a glamour mag! I love the way your gloves match the pink coat.
I don’t dare to buy shorts online ever since I got one that was a few sizes too big (my fault though, since I mixed up UK and US sizes XDD)

Hey Eyeliah!
Although the coat has large shoulders I still like the luxurous fur & the colour of the coat!
I wish you all the best in 2010! may your blog get more & more hits!

This coat is gorgeous and I love the fur collar!
Have you considered taking the coat to a tailor? They might be able to fix the shoulder issue.

- it is a beautiful coat but I am wondering if it smells like watermelon gum?

I never buy anything online unless I know for sure it will fit. Which explains how Gap is the only place I’ve ordered online from. This fear of buying clothes online spawns from a long ago mishap. In junior high I really liked the catalog Girlfriends L.A. My mum and I would pour over the pages picking out new clothes for me. One time we ordered these jeans. They were flared with stars all around the cuffs to the knees. Very 1998. When they arrived they were atrocious. The waist was HUGE and the knees were so tight I couldn’t get them up my calves. Who they made them for, I have no idea. We sent them back immediately and have never impulse bought anything that I couldn’t take back to the store ever again.
