Etsy Wishes

Category: Etsy Wishes,I ShopEyeliah

In these days of recession it is important to consider if we are going to be spending our hard earned money on clothing to spend it wisely. Quality cashmere is a smart option for a new piece being it is timeless, luxurious and so comfortable that we’ll want to wear it every day. This eliminates the need for purchasing multiple pieces in inferior fabrics, though may increase our want of more cashmere which defeats the initial purpose. Below are some lovely cashmere pieces on Etsy. If some items appear overly simple, that is because that is when cashmere is at it’s best. Click pictures for listings.

Which is your favorite?

Lord Almighty, I Feel My Temperature Rising

Category: My OutfitsEyeliah

This blog is a majority of pictures with I suddenly realize a lot of writing to accompany them. Since I started this blog (two years ago next week) I have actually learned how to type without looking at my fingers – no more hunt and peck for this gal. This means I type much faster and if I am stuck on caps locks I notice immediately instead of two full sentences later. It has also helped me immensely at my day job and on The Eyeline. I’ve never considered myself a writer which really doesn’t make much sense, I’ve been very diligent at keeping a journal most of my life and writing poetry, stories and song lyrics since I was a child. I’ve been looking at some personal blogs lately and am in awe at the high level of writing ability that is being offered, and at no charge!! In a way it makes me feel inadequate as I know I do not write enough in each post or that my writing needs to be more professional. But then I remember I am myself and I want to be accepted for who I am. In real life I often stumble over my words and put my foot in my mouth so why should this blog be any different? I improve more and more the longer this site continues, not just at writing, but photography, interview skills, outfit styling etc. With anything you devote so much time to of course we will improve, like my typing.

What skills have you been improving?

Make It Vancouver Purchases

Category: I ShopEyeliah

Clearly going as long as I did without shopping left me some major urges. After all those Etsy purchases I STILL went a little nuts at Make It Vancouver this weekend. My friend and I ended up buying items from three of the same vendors. Now either that means we have similar taste or that we are bad influences on eachother with our spending decisions, I’ll go with the former. And if some booths took visa as well as cash, I am sure I would’ve spent even more! Below are my splurging results.

Gorgeous reclaimed leather and silk obi belt by Giulia Fatica $65.

Feather headband from Thug Fairy Designs 2 for $45 or $25 each.

Feather Hairclip from Lollirot Designs $15. She also makes adorable top hats, if I felt I could have pulled it off or had an event coming up I would have got one!

Magnifying glass converted to a pendant, I had to have this for $12 from Pieces of II.

Copper Glitter from Mineraleyez. $9, free shipping on their website too.

My other favorites were;

  • Colab Clothing made that cute dinosaur tee photoed below.
  • Eclectica Vintage had the most gorgeous dresses – my friend bought the perfect yellow floral mini with crochet hemline.
  • Daughters of Bastards make the coolest jewelry out of chain metal.

I will definitely be back for next seasons event, join the Make It facebook group here.
