No Time For Running Away Now

Category: My OutfitsEyeliah @ 9:00 am

Trying some new formatting. It’s weird how my blog is not universal to all screens.  On my computer at home the Better Late Than Never post fits perfectly, I looked at it at work, and the pictures are too wide.  As I am not sure how to make it the same on all computers, you’ll just have to bear with me on that. 🙂

Did I tell you we went to see Inglorious Basterds this last weekend?  I didn’t find it overly gory as I’ve heard many say – I think that means I am desensitized – uhoh.  I did quite enjoy it, as I do all Quentin Tarantino movies. I didn’t know anything about it going in as I completely avoid all previews for any movies I am interested in (right now avoiding Avatar, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Parnassus), I hate spoilers.  I can trace it back to the Matrix Reloaded preview that showed every good scene, basically giving away the entire plot.  So when you see a girl in the back row with her head down and ears plugged – that’s me!

Do you like or loathe movie previews?

what a cute dress – i’m a sucker for polka dots.

and i love movie trailers, but it drives me CRAZY when they reveal too much. just a few screen shots and a great theme will do for me!

    Cute dress!

owww you shouldnt have said it wasnt too gory >_< i am exactly the same, and i still havnt managed to go watch inglorious basterds. tarantino is the best. i have really high expectations about this film, and i am completely avoiding all reviews! yours is the first mini review xD

    and omg
i am looking so much forward to avatar. unfortunately since i am a game fan, i saw a video featuring james cameron talking about the videogame on E3, and i wasnt expecting him to give away so many spoilers. gutted.

It’s okay! Your readers will always be here patiently reading as you work out the kinks to the site! Keep posting!

All your posts look perfect on my precious MacBook! 😀 But I understand your frustration, I’m currently experimenting with sizes etc. on my blog as well! Ugh, nothing seems right XD

Inglorious Bastards seems so good and I’ve heard nothing but praise! But I’m always scared when a film maker I love comes out with new stuff D:. Wong Kar Wai is one of my faves EVER and then he came out with My Blueberry Nights… OH HOW I CRIED.

  6. Kyla says:

This is such a flattering look on you. Love it!

    1) blog looks perfect on my precious 24″ iMac!

    2) I read reviews……..and often therefore miss great movies because some creep-o
reviewer (whom I mistakenly trust) sez the movie was crap! I’m trying to reform.

    3) Case in point: Wong Kar Wai’s My Blueberry Nights (I would have to say that he
is my all time fav director and if I could only take one director’s work to an
eternal desert island – or even a dessert island! – it would be him ‘fer sere’) which
had terrible reviews, so I didn’t see it until I could stream it on Netflix and…..I
Loved It! No, not typical WKW and what I have come to love about him (except the
photography which was liquid as usual) but the acting (!!). I mean Norah Jones?? she
    was fab; Natalie Portman – I didn’t even recognize her; Rachel Weiz and Jude Law – superb;
but it was David Strathairn that just blew me away! Story? Not so much – acting and
    photo? Fabulous!

    4) Speaking of formatting: I limit the line length on comments and emails. I think it
looks better and it reads easier too!

Thanx, Eyeliah – I love your blog! :)(:

Cute outfit, eyeliah. Would have been ideal with just one out of three accessories 😉 either the necklace, bracelets or belt. The necklace alone is the perfect touch to the dress for a dinner out, very retro.
I think I’m starting to feel the same about movie previews.

  9. Charlie says:

polkas, yay! I am the oposite, I just love watching previews, must know all I can about a movie before I see it hehe

  10. Danielle says:

Great dress and looks perfect with the pearls 🙂

I LOVE previews. Absolute love. I would watch a whole movie full of them. I cheer them. Like the Where the Wild Things Are preview? That is art in itself. I’m usually sad when they end and the movie actually starts. There is always the chance that the preview will give away every good part of the movie and that really upsets people, but I don’t mind a bit. I like looking for those scenes! Realizing that the scene from the preview isn’t in the movie at all? That can be a little frustrating.

  12. Michele says:

Cute polka dots – esp. like the teeny bodice bow.

  13. Eyeliah says:

Interesting thoughts all, I am glad to know that I’m not the only one who doesn’t like previews. I forgot, WTWTA, I have totally avoided those previews too – I have seen nothing! Hannele, that’s a good idea too, I rarely were this many accessories, I guess I was trying to brighten the dress up a bit. 🙂

My posts look different on different computers too — let me know if you figure out a trick for making them universal!

As for movie previews, I love ’em. I could watch nothing but previews for hours.
