This top is beyond ridiculous, years ago I got it on discount and would tend to wear it only with jeans and simple accessories. Here for the first time ever I’ve mixed it with some color, specifically baby blue and red to match the sequin details. The brown of the top and the white of the skirt are the neutrals. The way to achieve this is simple, pick at least one other coordinating piece to match the colorful item. Like what I’ve used here (belt, cardigan and shoes), or even a necklace, earrings, purse or scarf etc. The statement I’m making has now changed from ‘I put on some clothes’ to ‘I put together this outfit’, now it feels on purpose. Next time I could wear it with a pale yellow skirt, red cardigan and neutral shoes or with a brown skirt, red beaded necklace and my yellow sandals. It may seem almost too simple, but it really is that easy to step up the quality of our day to day wear. If you have any questions or extra tips, please comment or send an email.
