There is a long history of me reading Liebemarlene’s fashion blog, actually it goes further back as I remember seeing her ebay store first back in 2007. An adorable girl modeling pretty vintage dresses of course catches the eye. She was one of the few blogs I read prior to starting my own and her ability to overcome shyness to share posts with the world gave me courage. Rhiannon is a lover of small towns, antiques and silent film stars. She collects vintage dresses, often struggling over which items to sell and which to keep. Her photos really stepped up a notch when “Kumar” became her man behind the camera and created her lovely scrapbook frames. Please check out Liebemarlene and her ebay store.
1. What would you name your personal style?
I think I would call it romantic with a quirky twist . . . I wear mostly vintage, mostly dresses and girly things, but then I also have a thing for tall, ugly-ish shoes and and for mixing decades and pieces that don’t necessarily go together.
2. Is there anything you wouldn’t wear?
I guess I’ll probably never wear anything that’s really sexy or tight–well, stuff like that would look awful on me, so I’m just not drawn to it at all.
3. Where do you get your outfit inspirations?
I steal ideas from collections that I like and from street style sites and other fashion blogs. Or I’ll find one thing–a dress or skirt or blouse or pair of shoes or just a color scheme–and build the outfit around it. And I’m definitely inspired by old movies and old silent film star photos.
4. What’s your favorite non fashion hobby?
Lately I’ve been really into reading history books about the Civil War. I was never really into it all that much before or really American history of any kind, but living in the South is making me want to read up on every single battlefield and plantation around. Also when I work on Ebay listings I’ve been watching the Ken Burns Civil War documentary and it just about makes me cry.
5. How much time do you spend working on your blog?
Around two to three hours a day–it takes me the most time to come up with an idea for a blog post, usually. And getting the pictures together too–it’s always such a relief to finally hit upon something to write about, because the writing’s what comes the fastest.
6. What songs/albums are you loving right now?
T. Rex radio on Pandora! It’s wonderful . . . Right now my favorite thing to listen to probably is super early T. Rex–songs like Deborah and One Inch Rock and Beltane Walk are so weird-pretty!
7. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I think I always wanted to be a writer, ever since I was 9 or so. Before that I think I was too lazy to think about it. Oh, I think my sisters & I wanted to be cops so we wouldn’t get thrown in jail!
Rhiannon thank you so much for participating!!
