The Peter, Bjorn & John show was beyond awesome. We arrived, got drinks and straight away the opening act ended. The crowd dissipated to the point where there was an open spot at the centre right behind the people lining the stage. Of course Mel and I snaked our way in to acquire this best spot ever. Anytime I get right below the stage – such as at Juliette & The Licks and The Kills both at the now closed Richards on Richards – it turns into the most epic night. Of course tonight was no exception! Five songs in the band announced It was John’s (the drummer) birthday and immediately a group of guys in the crowd started singing Happy Birthday, quickly the rest of us joined in. The band was so moved, it was quite a moment. There was also a huge blow up caterpillar and many stage antics from major ham Peter. It was the only time I have ever been that close but also given the freedom to move and dance around, no pushing and moshing to be found, not once stepped on or elbowed in the head, a lovely crowd indeed. The highlight? Both of us got high fives from Peter – oh yeah!

Impressed I got dressed at all since I just got back from camping and then had a too long nap. I clothed myself in ten minutes and ran out the door. 🙂 Picture just taken today.
