Is That New? 5 Ways Challenge

Category: My OutfitsEyeliah

Here are my last two outfits for the One Jacket Five Ways Challenge. If it was cooler out I would have worn more accessories, but no way at these temperatures! I love capris with kitten heels and purple with orange so that brought on my massive orange leather purse. And it’s fun to mix patterns and textures, so for the second look I have two subtle and one bold print with fabrics in silk, cotton, wool and leather.

1st Look: Thrifted Purple Blazer and Orange Purse. Suzy Shier Butter Yellow Collared Top and Capris. Aldo Heels. 2nd Look: Thrifted Maroon Loafers. Green Top, Free from Swap. Gold Silk Skirt, Etsy.

And the first three looks.  I have to pick my favorite out of the five, any suggestions?

Check out Mervat’s post to enter the challenge before June 26th.

Snakeskin Bracelet Winner!

Category: GiveawaysEyeliah

The way I decided to choose the winner this time around was to click ALL the links for everyones favorite items at Rice and Beans Vintage and then from there choose my favorite piece!! I have my choices narrowed down to two favorites and couldn’t decide. I feel compelled to tell you my deciding factor as one of the two finalists has never been on my blog before, I searched her name and all I see is her comments on giveaways, not any other type comments, just giveaways! So that tells me she just goes around entering giveaways, not that there is anything wrong with that I suppose (and she has won quite a few too!). This made it easy for me to choose the other finalist, I hope you don’t think I am awful!

The Winner is commenter #33!
I love this sequin jacket you choose, I hope you love your new bracelet from Rice and Beans Vintage.

Stay tuned, next giveaway up within 48 hours.

The Symmetry Seven ~ The Clothes Horse

Category: Real Girl SpotlightsEyeliah

Without a doubt, The Clothes Horse is the friendliest fashion blogger around! Anyone who is a regular reader of Rebecca’s blog knows she will respond to your comments and even stop by your personal blog to say hello. That along with her knack for posing, inventive photoshoots and outfits have contributed to her skyrocketing success. Please enjoy The Clothes Horse’s answers to The Symmetry Seven.

1. What would you name your personal style?
I like to think of my style as “quirky ladylike.” I have a penchant for feminine dresses, but I like to mix things up a bit and add in personal touches like fascinators, colorful shoes, and whimsical details.

2. Is there anything you wouldn’t wear?
There’s an awful lot I would never wear…but trends tend to wear me down over time. I’m not interested in harem pants, shredded tees, or overly sexy pieces.

3. Where do you get your outfit inspirations?
The old classic films that I was raised on, like Bonnie and Clyde starring Faye Dunaway. Other bloggers online are another huge inspiration and street fashion sites and books. I first started to really get into fashion with the “Fruits” books featuring Japanese street style.

4. Tell us about your day job?
I guess currently I join the ranks of the unemployed! I just graduated from college less than a month ago and I used to work part-time as a cashier on my campus. Right now I’m “figuring things out.”

5. How much time do you spend working on your blog?
It’s hard to say, probably about two hours go into a post. This includes the time I take to photograph my outfits and upload the images. I end up spending hours just browsing around the web and reading other blogs.

6. What songs/albums are you loving right now?
I can’t get ‘The Hazards of Love’ by the Decemberists out of my head lately. I especially like the haunting lit from the accordion in the song “Isn’t It A Lovely Night?” on that album.

7. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An unmarried mother; I was quite convinced when I was very little that motherhood was the best route but had no interest in having a man in my life. My parents tried many times to convince me this might not be the best route…

Rebecca thank you so much for participating!! :-)

The World is Love and Life are Deep

Category: My OutfitsEyeliah

Spent more time at the beach, getting a good dent into Dracula and an early start on that summer tan.  Okay, these pictures are two weeks old (whoops) so no tan showing here!  Watched Game 7 (hockey), had a nice walk with frozen yogurt, bought a new bed!, saw FanBoys and then more time at the beach.  I would have to say the best weekend I’ve had in a long time. :-)

How was your weekend?

_____
Green Polo Shirt, Bluenotes. Floral Skirt, Etsy. Cream Socks, Ardene. Navy Bow Flats, Indigo.  P.S. I know that I wear this skirt too much, I don’t care.
