Boot Hunt Update

Category: I ShopEyeliah

I wanted these off white ankle boots, but they were $110.  Which would be fine, but at Le Chateau!  Nothing there is worth that much.
Only two pairs left in the store, these dark brown twill boots from Joneve were marked down from $90 to $30.  Also really cute and pretty comfortable, so I bought them! What a great deal.  They still don’t fill all my boot loving fantasies, so I’ll be on the hunt for a while longer.

There are so many great ones online, but I just don’t like to buy that way.  Shoes are such a pricey investment piece and I have to be sure they will fit and be comfortable.  I measure heel to toe with a similar pair, but still I can never be sure.  Do you have any tips for buying shoes online?

Some dream boots….

Three in my size on ebay.

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Category: My OutfitsEyeliah

A great thing about clothing swaps is it gives you a chance to try things out that you never thought you would or never had before for free!  Prior to the Swap, I didn’t own anything like this top, the color and the bustline are brand new concepts to me.  I don’t think I would have ever picked this out in a store and yet it is a new favorite.  You should see a couple other tops I got from The Swap (oh wait, you will!) because they are even more out of my comfort zone (bell sleeved lace and a babydoll with sequins!).  This top below and the items I am describing are from the lovely Karina of Anywhere But Here, thanks so much for coming and broadening my horizons.  I guess another moral to this story is to try things on you normally wouldn’t next time you are shopping!

Is there something out of your comfort zone you’ve recently tried and now you love it?  Doesn’t have to be clothing.

Blog to Watch ~ Pony and Pink

Pony & Pink have been blogging since July of 2008 and I just can’t get enough! I’m going to focus on Pony, since Pink (dude with cool retro sporty style) is a less regular poster. :-)

Pony has the best collection of fancy vintage and prom dresses. I first noticed her as atriuum on flickr. I believe this was the look that pushed me over the edge, no longer just watching her wardrobe remix but reading and loving her blog!

This Australian Cutie is so skillful at styling her stunning vintage pieces into new modern looks with her personal quirky flair. Mixing up the dresses with neckscarves, layered necklaces and basic tops.

Please check out Pony and Pink!

I also love her recent change to a blonde pixie cut!
