My favorite little buckle shoes hit the garbage can yesterday, can you see why? They became unwearable months ago but for some reason I was stilling holding on to them. I realized they are just taking up too much valuable space in my small shoe closet!
That is a downside to thrfiting sometimes the items do not last like we may hope and expect. When I get an item brand new it is so well taken care of from day one, but an item from the thrift store may have already lived a very full life before it moved into my closet. These buckle shoes looked amazing when I first got them and they lasted through 8 months of consistent wear. I will always remember the good times we had, parting is such sweet sorrow.

What item you loved did you recently have to toss out of your closet?

Awww boo. I have some clothes I picked up while traveling, nothing special but from H&M and they have stains on them that won’t come out, etc. I had to throw a few out – of course, I don’t remember exactly what they were lol so maybe they didn’t mean THAT much. Even so, stains sadden me.
I also have a pair of Christian Louboutins I am trying to sell on eBay. I can’t give or throw them out cuz they would give me some kind of return but I love them dearly, if they don’t sell I will keep them and just look at them. A bitch to wear though…
OOH also there was this awesome nude chiffon flapper style dress from Forever 21 which I loved and only go to wear ONCE before it literally disintegrated at the seams…I swear, that store sometimes….

PS those shoes are super cute, very Katherine Hepburn/Dietrich I would held on to them for a long time too!

Aww, honey, I understand. All too well, as I tend to ride my clothes & shoes hard. For me, I recently had to throw out my favorite black & white striped shirt (tunic length, which meant it hit my hips on my long torso). It was perfect, and I fear I’ll never find another….
