It’s been a while since I’ve posted a Symmetry Star, I suppose because I tend to get more style inspiration from real people. It occurred to me late last night that I should do a post on Marilyn Monroe. I hadn’t posted sooner as it’s like saying how Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O have great style (duh!) but just because Marilyn is an obvious choice doesn’t mean she should be ignored. My fascination started around age 12, and eventually branched into collecting photos and calendars, storing them in a scrapbook along with torn out magazine pages of my other favorites Drew Barrymore and Liv Tyler. Marilyn will never be forgotten, that is for sure.

I had a dentist appointment, does the enthusiasm show through in my outfit?
Below is another day from the week prior when I tried to wear pants. I thought my cute rainbow button sweater would make up for my boredom, it did a bit but not as much as when I’ll find my new wides!

But not wide enough….
These flickr ladies got it figured out. This trend is making me reminisce about my favorite wides from high school. I’m definitely now on the hunt for some wide legs, ideally in dress pants.

Below is the dress from Mintage I was telling you about. It fits perfect and it’s orange so I had to have it.
The days are getting sunnier and brighter, so is my mood. 
Scoring a ticket to see The Kills for a third time may have something to do with it. I didn’t even bother to see who else wants to come before purchasing, so hopefully there will be others to join me. Their set at Richards on Richards was one of the best shows I saw in ’08, obviously I have to go again.
What band would you pay your hard earned dollars to see again and again?
