I’ve heard numerous people say things like ‘you can wear anything you want if you have confidence’ or ‘if you think you can pull it off you can’. I have to say I disagree with this philosophy for my own personal style. I am a pear body shape with big hips and butt, smaller waist and chest. Put me in any tube dress, skintight pants or mini skirt and I look like a whale! (Even though I am not.) Skirts need to be ideally right above or below the knee or midcalf. Straight or tight skirts are not good, they must flow out from the hip in an A line. Tops and blouse are best fitted, if oversized cinched with a belt. My arms are best suited with full sleeves or cap sleeves. The length of the sleeves on the top below hit me at the worst spot, which is why I layered a long sleeve underneath.
I get into all this as the outfit below follows all my rules. Of course rules are meant to be broken, I don’t follow this credo at all times. What are your body shape rules?

Sky Blue Blouse, Winners (Birthday $). Belt, off Polka Dot Dress. Suzy Shier Black Eyelet Top. Thrifted Jacob Skirt and Ankle Boots. Earrings from Mexico Vacation.

I agree with you, not everything looks good on everyone.

I really love your blouse and it’s brilliant how you’ve belted it.
